This article analyzes the phenomenon of metaphorization in geological terminology and related challenges in the process of translating into English and Uzbek. In specialized scientific texts, many geological terms have metaphorical meanings based on human experience and perception, which complicates the preservation of scientific accuracy when directly translated into another language. The study highlights the role of metaphorical concepts in the formation of terminological units and the selection of lexica l equivalents. For instance, while many terms in English contain metaphorical components, their Uzbek translations often employ descriptive or neutral expressions. Inaccurate translation of metaphors distorts the scientific content of the term and hinders text comprehension. The article emphasizes the importance for translators to conduct in -depth analysis of source and target conceptual fields, context, and translation strategies. The c omparison of English and Uzbek geological terms revealed issues such as neutralization of metaphorization and selection of equivalents. The research findings demonstrate the significance of ensuring terminological precision when translating scientific texts in the field of geology and applying scientifically neutral translati on techniques.
