GENRE SYNTHESIS AND THE ARTISTIC MODEL OF THE WORLD IN IVAN TURGENEV’S “A NEST OF THE GENTRY” AND ORHAN PAMUK’S “MY NAME IS RED”

The aim of this article is to examine how, at the level of the novel’s genre structure, the historical trajectories of nations and countries are interpreted through the lens of individual destinies. It seeks to analyse texts from different periods through the lens of cross- genre synthesis. The objects of study are the novels “A Nest of the Gentry” by Ivan Turgenev and “My Name is Red” by Orhan Pamuk. The subject of study comprises the genre markers of national and cultural processes, as well as the techniqu es and methods of textual representation of a nation’s developmental paths. The article presents an analysis of works in which the personal, romantic and detective elements are interwoven with the historical, cultural and political. This is a unique epic -dramatic synthesis, realised by the Russian prose writer in the 19th century and the Turkish Nobel Prize laureate in the current literary process. Attention is focused on the qualitative aspects Urban text, genre synthesis, intermediality, national-cultural model of the world, artistic integrity, urban studies.
