Sociopragmatics is a science that examines the relationship between language and communication with social and cultural factors and enables a deeper understanding of the communicative functions of symbols. The study also analyzes their communication goals and cultural and social influence through the semantic, pragmatic and social characteristics of symbols. This study based on the theoretical and practical materials of our dissertation on the topic “Sociopragmatic and linguacultural characteristics of symbolic words in English and Uzbek.” The study discusses topics such as the variability of their meanings, contextual dependence, and similarities and differences between social groups using phytosymbols in English and Uzbek, in particular plants such as oak, maple, tulip, shamrock. In addition, the study also shows how phytosymbols are formed culturally and historically, as well as their social significance.
